Dr. Colón


With a commitment to high-quality patient care, Mel J. Colón, DPM, is a go-to practitioner for all conditions that affect the feet, ankles, and lower legs. Dr. Colón cares for patients at International Medical Clinics (IMC), located in Atlanta.

After completing his undergraduate studies in New York City at Long Island University in Brooklyn, Dr. Colón was accepted into graduate school. He earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia.

Dr. Colón went through hospital residency training at the former Lawndale Community Hospital in Philadelphia, where he gained extensive experience in surgery of the foot, ankle, and leg. He’s currently board certified through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

While he has special interests in bunions, plantar fasciitis, foot and ankle deformities, and heel pain, to name a few, Dr. Colón diagnoses and treats a wide variety of common to complex ailments. Throughout his career, Dr. Colón has been a trusted provider in the field of podiatry. He’s spent more than 35 years lecturing on advancements in foot and ankle surgeries and has provided expert commentary for several newspaper, magazine, radio, and television interviews.

When he’s not caring for patients in the clinic, Dr. Colón donates his time to various organizations in his community. He was a member of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and is currently Chairman of the Healthcare division for the World Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Colón has also served as the president of the Kiwanis Club of East Cobb in Georgia.

Patients of Dr. Colón appreciate the time he spends diagnosing their conditions and educating them about all of their different treatment options. He likes to ensure patients are involved in every step of their health care management and treatment plan.

Dr. Barrell

For more than two decades, Leigh Barrell, MD, a board-certified OB/GYN, has been caring for women throughout all stages of life. Dr. Barrell offers compassionate obstetrics and gynecology care for women of all ages at International Medical Clinics (IMC) in Atlanta.

After earning her Doctor of Medicine from the Georgia Regents University Medical College (now the Medical College of Georgia) in Augusta, Georgia, Dr. Barrell went through extensive obstetrics and gynecology patient care training. She completed her residency at Georgia Baptist Medical Center (now the Atlanta Medical Center), located in the heart of Atlanta.

Because of her passion and dedication to high-quality patient care, Dr. Barrell continues to further her training and education. She’s currently board certified through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Barrell has special interests in perimenopause, menopausal disorders, endometriosis, irregular menstrual periods, and family planning. She also offers comprehensive prenatal care, as well as labor and delivery services.

Patients of Dr. Barrell commend her nurturing demeanor and caring bedside manner. She engages with her patients, ensuring each patient receives the education they need to make the best decision for their specific health care needs.


Angela Chin

Because of her warm and compassionate bedside manner, Angela Chin, NP, is known for making her patients feel at ease during appointments. Angela cares for patients of all ages at International Medical Clinics (IMC), located in the heart of Atlanta.

After completing her undergraduate studies, Angela went through a rigorous nurse practitioner program and completed her Master of Science. She went on to gain additional hands-on training, working in fast-paced hospital and clinical settings.

Not only can Angela diagnose and treat acute injuries and ailments such as the common cold and flu, minor sports injuries, lacerations, and infections, to name a few, Angela can also help patients manage chronic conditions. She’s able to prescribe medications and create lifestyle management plans to help patients with diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, and more.

Being fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese gives Angela the opportunity to converse with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Angela enjoys getting to know each of her patients individually to educate them on disease prevention and how to improve their overall wellness.
